Data import and export

Excel lets you prepare, review, analyze or exchange some of your maintenance data with MatxFlow.

Available actions

Import or export your data

When the data on a screen can be exchanged with Excel, the available actions are accessible directly from that screen.

Exporting data

Export lets you retrieve the data available in MatxFlow as an Excel file.

You can then open the file in Excel to run your own analysis, prepare reporting, share the information with another team or keep a copy of the data.

Where is the export?

The Export button is available directly on the screens that offer data export.

Importing data

Import lets you load data prepared in an Excel file into MatxFlow.

This is particularly useful when you need to prepare or update a large volume of data before using it in MatxFlow.

Not every screen supports import.

When import is available, the Import button is offered directly on the screen concerned.

Preparing an Excel file

Before importing a file, check that it contains the information MatxFlow expects.

  • Keep the columns needed to process the data.
  • Follow the expected headings and format.
  • Check the values entered before importing.
  • Avoid changing the structure of an exported file if you plan to import it again.

A simple process

01

Export

Retrieve the data from the screen concerned.

02

Work in Excel

Analyze, complete or prepare the information you need.

03

Import

When import is available, upload the file again from the screen concerned.

Before importing

Take a moment to check your file. Incorrect data or an unexpected format can prevent the import or produce a different result from the one you expect.

Whenever possible, start from a file exported from MatxFlow rather than creating a new file from scratch.
